ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As Lead Instructional Designer and Trainer, you, you will be accountable for developing and delivering product technical training programs to our sales and pre-sales teams. The role is split into 50 instructional design and 50 training.

The ideal candidate will have a strong SITA product technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for educating others about SITA’s products and solutions. You will work closely with product managers, solution specialists, solution designers, solution engineers, sales and relevant product teams to ensure that training materials are up to date and tailored to the audiences needs.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Training, you will be a part of the SITA Strategy & Growth Enablement, Portfolio Training team, responsible for designing training programs to enable our Sales Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Solution Designers, Solution Engineers to position, sell and design SITA’s Passenger Processing, Operations at Airports and Baggage solutions to our customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Curriculum Design & Product Value Articulation

  • Build from Scratch: Design and author comprehensive training curricula, including playbooks, slide decks, and talk tracks.
  • Value Proposition Development: Work closely with Product and Marketing to define and articulate the unique value propositions for each solution line. You will teach sales teams how to move beyond "feature selling" to "value-based selling."
  • Multi-Solution Strategy: Create distinct enablement paths for different GTM models:
    • Software/SaaS: Articulating ROI through operational efficiency and scalability.
    • Hardware: Articulating value through reliability, durability, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
    • System Integration: Articulating the value of a unified, "turn-key" ecosystem.

2. Training Delivery

  • High-Impact Training Sessions: Lead interactive, hands-on training workshops (virtual and in-person) that move beyond theory into practical sales application.
  • Spotlight Webinars: Design and host a regular cadence of "Product Spotlight" webinars to provide rapid updates on new features, spanet trends, or competitive intelligence in our dynamic industry.
  • Engagement & Energy: Act as the "voice of the product" for the sales team, maintaining high levels of engagement and ensuring knowledge retention through creative delivery methods.
  • LLM-Powered Development: Utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to ingest complex SITA technical documentation and output simplified, sales-ready summaries and FAQs.

  • AI-Enhanced Training: Implement AI tools for virtual role-plays, automated pitch grading, and personalized learning paths for AMs and BDMs.

3. Stakeholder & Audience Alignment

    • Persona-Based Training: Tailor training delivery for Account Managers (focused on long-term value and expansion) and Business Development Managers (focused on high-impact pitches and competitive differentiation).
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners to stay ahead of the roadmap, ensuring all "Spotlight" content is timely and accurate.

4. Product Expertise and sales readiness:

    • Translate technical specifications from product teams into "sales-ready" language that resonates with airline and airport stakeholders.
    • Conduct certifications and role-playing exercises to ensure the sales force can handle complex objections, procurement hurdles, and technical integrations.

5. Metrics & Impact: Track and report on the effectiveness of training programs using KPIs like "Time to First Deal" and "Win Rates."


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years in instructional design, technical training, or enterprise content management, ideally in tech, aviation, or enterprise solutions.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging training for complex products, tailored to sales and pre-sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and blended learning approaches.
  • Experience translating technical concepts into clear, compelling learning materials.
  • Skilled in facilitation, coaching, and delivering both virtual and in-person training.
  • Ability to assess training needs and build impactful learning solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working across product, sales, and spaneting teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Exceptional writing and content creation skills, with attention to detail and clarity.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience in aviation, travel technology, or SaaS industries.
  • Instructional design or training certifications (e.g., CPTD, CTT+).
  • Familiarity with SITA products or similar technology platforms.
  • Proficient in e-learning tools, LMS platforms, and content development.
