STS Technical Services is looking for talented Traveling Painters for a 6-month contract opportunity in Bedford, Pennsylvania. Why You Should Apply
- Pay: $25.00/hour + Daily Meal Per Diem, 7 days per week
- Overtime: Overtime may be available, so come ready to work extra hours.
- Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 5 AM – 3 PM
- 2nd Shift: 6 PM – 4 AM
- Weekend Shift: 5 AM – 5 PM (Friday to Sunday, work 36 hours and get paid for 40!)
- Start Date: December 9th
- Travel & Accommodation: STS will cover flights or reimburse mileage, hotel accommodations, a rental car, and gas expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Painting & Finishing: Prime, paint, and touch up vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes; ensure quality through masking, unmasking, and surface preparation.
- Equipment Maintenance: Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble painting equipment; flush tanks, hoses, and spray guns during color changeovers.
- Mixing & Chemical Management: Mix paints for optimal color, formula, and consistency; perform titrations and adjust chemicals as needed.
- Quality Control: Inspect products throughout the painting process to meet specifications; apply decals, stencils, and rustproofing.
- Material Handling: Transport parts during the paint process, operating forklifts or overhead cranes as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 2-3 years of painting experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, or equipment manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop settings.
- Skills: Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Independence: Ability to perform assigned work with minimal direction, troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Experience: 3+ years of painting experience and familiarity with powder coating is preferred.
