Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Location: Dallas, TX
- Applies paint to surfaces on aircraft parts.
- Mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnish, shellac,enamel, and other finishes.
- Scrapes, sands, primes, or seals surfaces prior to painting.
- Cleans surfaces to ensure proper adherence.
- Covers work surfaces and areas with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.Calculates amounts of required materials and estimates costs.
- Moves equipment as necessary.
- Masks portions of components that do not require paint such as bearings, bushings, rub strips, etc.
- Applies primers and top coat finishes to a quality standard to meet manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
- Properly uses scales and mixing equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be available for any shift.
- Must have 2 years of Aircraft/Automotive Paint experience.
- This is a DOT safety sensitive position and requires participation in a DOT drug screen and random screening.
Preferred Skills:
- FAA 145 Repair Station experience.
- Paint scheme drawings experience.
- Sanding and Prepping surfaces for paint.
Pay: is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $32.40.- $46.59
