Secondary operations mechanics perform a variety of entry-level tasks under supervision. These tasks require a basic understanding of tools and mechanical operations including determining the right tool for the job. The position also requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents, prints and work instructions. Secondary operations mechanics will be expected to use templates, jigs and fixtures to perform specified operations. This position includes drilling, reaming, boring, and counter sinking close tolerance holes. Secondary operations mechanics will also use basic handheld measuring tools, including scales, micrometers and calipers, to verify part dimensions. This is an entry level position that typically requires 0-1 years of experience. This position is a good fit for applicants with a background in mechanical repairs or a strong mechanical aptitude.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all Safety Rules and Policies.
  • With direct supervision, perform a verity of basic tasks such as loading parts on fixtures and jigs before clamping, drilling, boring, and counter sinking holes.
  • Perform basic inspection operations to insure component alignment, clearance, cleanliness and fastening.
  • Maintain area organization and cleanliness through-out shift.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to use basic hand tools such as clamps, countersinks and drills.
  • The ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers and feeler gauges to complete required inspection procedures.
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs, carry up to 20 ft and load parts in fixtures weighing up to 35 lbs.

Required Experience:

  • This position requires basic experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as drills and pneumatic tools.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $31.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 104 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
