Essential Functions:
Under close supervision, the intern will support Engineering and Production through the following:
Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for Additive Manufacturing equipment set up, operation, monitoring and build to build change over as well as some preventive maintenance
- Work as a key contributor to the development of new laser parameters and the implementation of new AM process and controls
- Work with engineering team to develop comprehensive work instructions to improve communication and improve part quality
- Collect and analyze inspection data to determine consistency, part to part, and then machine to machine to help stabilize the process
Process Engineering responsibilities include the following:
- Support the launch of the latest Additive Manufacturing (AM) equipment following manufacturers instructions and established procedures
- Research, develop, test, and implement optimal process control for cost effective Additive Manufacturing
- Support operation activities to implement advanced process controls through data analytics in AM to reduce variation, improve reliability and repeatability
- Support the installation and development activities for brand new automated production cells
Qualifications:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors (preferably at Sophomore/Junior level) or Masters degree in a related engineering discipline.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
