Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage the standardization and streamlining of all database build activities for current and next generation technology implementations.
  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical teams
  • Ensure daily management standards & process adherence around the infrastructure design, database migrations, operations and CMMC/Sox projects.
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Actively work with cross functional teams, management and key stake holders to program manage, review progress and functional delivery on a regular committed basis
  • Manage Build project deliverables, process improvement, strategy implementation, and build process automation while managing quality and cycle time.
  • Lead system migrations & consolidations, as well as planning for obsolescence and upgrades
  • Architect solutions in conjunction with technical and customer requirements
  • Identify and implement new technologies.
  • Manage overall team metrics such as cost and cycle time.
  • Identify critical path decisions, make recommendations, and influence program leaders and business process owners to maximize project payback
  • Work with business partners to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in the preparation of long-term systems plans aligned with business objectives and goals.
  • Lead a team of technical resources.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Managing the agreed priorities in consultation with the Product Owner, team capacity planning, sprint velocity, ownership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • 4 plus years’ experience of Oracle Database different versions including installations and configuration in on prem and in the cloud
  • 4 plus years’ experience of RDS installations and configuration in the cloud

  • Adept at navigating the organizational matrix; understanding peoples roles, can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources and rally teammates.
  • Understand how internal and/or external business model works and facilitate active customer engagement.
  • Able to articulate the value of what is most important to the business/customer to achieve outcomes.
  • Able to produce functional area information in sufficient detail for cross-functional teams to utilize, using presentation and storytelling concepts.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of full solution catalog within a business unit and proficiency in discussing each area at an advanced level.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent quality certification

Technical Expertise: 

  • Experience in managing, monitoring and maintaining databases in the cloud as well on prem.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrating with IDM
  • Previous experience with DBA tools like OEM, CloudWatch, pdAdmin, Dbeaver etc
  • Designing and implementing databases in accordance to end users information needs and views
  • Knowledge in applying CMMC and SOX controls at database and database operating system level.
  • Experience in Oracle RAC, Dataguard, and Grid control
