Job Overview:
Bring your skills and energy to our Auburn team as a machine operator. You’ll set up and operate a variety of machines within a sophisticated manufacturing environment that’s turning out high quality aircraft engine turbine blades, parts, and assemblies. Job assignments will be rotated daily so we will train on how to operate at every workstation in the facility. Tools and equipment range in size from small to large and in complexity from simple to very complicated.
Roles/ Responsibilities:
- Use creativity to design, build, and assemble carts, trays, stands, and other equipment to support workstation tooling and equipment.
- Perform complicated layout operations to verify part dimensions.
- Perform other related duties, when necessary.
- Must have flexibility to work occasional weekend shifts.
- Requires ability to work overtime (OT).
- Willingness to work 2nd shift: 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM
Required qualifications:
- High School diploma/ GED
- 1+ year(s) of experience in manufacturing (Machine Operator/Machinist preferred
- 1+year(s) reading and interpreting blueprints, using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.) as well as performing shop math calculations including fraction and decimal equivalents.
- Attend and successfully pass a state sponsored pre-employment training class.
- This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining
Desirable qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing (Machine Operator/Machinist preferred).
- National Manufacturing certification from an accredited organization (NAM, NOCTI, NIMS, etc.).
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- intermediate shop math
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a Tobacco/ Smoke Free environment
