Position Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor may also be asked to assist with certain planning and scheduling for the plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for supervision of shipping employees including scheduling work hours/vacations, tracking attendance, approving timecards, and issuing performance documentation
  • Enforce all handbook policies and procedures for direct reports
  • Coordinate shipping and trucking companies and prepare shipment paperwork, including Customs documentation
  • Schedule/prioritize and expedite outside services
  • Track and provide PODs to customers/vendors
  • Maintain inventory of dock supplies and place orders as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and organized dock area
  • Maintain vehicle and schedule appropriate maintenance as needed
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules
  • Attend production meetings as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with inputting shipping/receiving data into an ERP system.
  • Build and ship via UPS/FedEx/external trucking companies
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to create a plan and assist in execution of the plan
