The Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect provides direction, guidance, and definition of the enterprise architecture for NAV CANADA in support of its business strategy and objectives. The candidate is responsible for understanding, creating, and documenting the current and future state architectures, standards, patterns, and blueprints for the Technology organization through a deep understanding of the underlying enterprise business drivers, industry imperatives and innovations. The Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect is also responsible for working with both business and technology stakeholders on defining the architecture and high-level design on strategic and complex projects and programs. The Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect analyzes industry technologies and strategies to determine potential impacts and trends.Job Description

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide architectural expertise and direction in one or more technology areas.
- Work with project managers and project sponsors to provide enterprise solutions to specific business problems and issues across many domains.
- Work closely with business and technology organization stakeholders to fully understand the requirements, pain points and areas of improvements, and to enable effective and suitable technology solutions to address these findings.
- Collaborate with the broader architecture community to ensure that their solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmaps.
- Create detailed solution designs, technical architecture diagrams, and integration plans that meet business requirements and align with enterprise standards.
- Look for opportunities to reduce complexity and technical debt to support the corporate objective on commonality in our delivery of services.
- Assist with the identification of cross-functional and cross-team dependencies, drive critical design decisions to closure and help develop cohesive, integrated, and simplified solutions.
- Prepare and present project documentation for the architecture review board.
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency across projects.
- Mentor and guide technical resources within product family and lifecycle teams on architecting solutions across the various technology domains.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout the solution development lifecycle, ensuring that implementation aligns with the design.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in developing enterprise and solution level architectural designs.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
- Previous experience delivering large, complex implementations from inception to go-live.
- Previous working experience with application data networking.
- Previous working experience with Cloud technologies.
Knowledge
- Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance IT architectures, including cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of software architecture patterns or approaches.
- Knowledge of various software designs, languages, and architectures.
- Knowledge of DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with computer networks and security management.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture practices, methodologies, and frameworks (Ex: TOGAF, ITIL, …).
Abilities
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to orchestrate solutions consisting of multiple solution components and technologies.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive research activities to evaluate current and emerging trends in both information and operational technology (IT/OT) domains.
- Ability to build prototypes and POCs to validate solution approaches and test new technologies.
- Ability to learn new technology concepts swiftly and comprehensively.
- Ability to develop detailed architectural blueprints, solution documents, and technical diagrams.
- Strong ability to engage with various stakeholders (technical teams, business leaders, clients) and influence decision-making.

Working conditions:
- This position is based at the Ottawa TSC
- This position is a hybrid position with a minimum – 3 days per week on site.
- Travel may be required on occasion.
