dnata Netherlands is a key European hub within our global network, delivering high-quality cargo, ground handling, and passenger services at Amsterdam’s major airport, Schiphol.
We are seeking an experienced HR Director to join the Netherlands leadership team. This role will lead the delivery of both strategic and operational HR across the business, ensuring effective workforce planning, strong employee relations, and a high-performing, engaged workforce aligned to business goals.
In this role, you will
- Lead and implement the people strategy, aligning HR priorities with business objectives and growth plans
- Partner with the leadership team to drive workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, and organisational development
- Oversee all HR functions, including HR Business Partnering, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Payroll, and Resource Planning
- Manage complex employee relations, including works council, union engagement and collective bargaining agreements, ensuring constructive and compliant relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with Dutch labour law, regulatory requirements, and dnata governance standards.
- Own and manage the HR budget, ensuring effective resource utilisation and competitive compensation and benefits practices.
- Drive a performance-led culture, supporting leaders to manage, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with works council, unions and regulatory bodies.
- Champion dnata’s values, embedding them into all aspects of the employee experience.
- Support business transformation, change initiatives, and operational stability in a fast-paced environment.
- Uphold and promote dnata’s safety-first culture across all teams.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
8+ years’ HR experience, including significant leadership experience in a complex, multi-site or unionised environment.
Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR best practices.
Proven experience managing industrial relations, including union negotiations.
Demonstrated experience in organisational change, transformation, and programme management.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget ownership.
Data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into business decisions.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
You’ll have an edge if you have
- Professional accreditation (CIPD or equivalent).
- Experience in aviation, ground handling, logistics, or similarly operational environments.
