Flight Crew Planning Manager
Based in Malta
Purpose of the role
Leading a team of flight operations crew planners and supporting the planning of crew rosters that allow the company to operate a commercial program. To overview and manage crew rosters in an efficient, safe and compliant manner. Driving system and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Oversight on the crew resources and roster creation.
- Oversight and accountability of the crew planning function within the AOC.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations (duty and flight time limitations).
- Ensuring that the rosters maintain the FRM principles to reduce the fatigue risk of the operations
- (Fatigue Risk Management).
- Ensuring roster efficiency
- Managing and developing the relevant Crew Planner Team to optimize the crew rostering.
- Planning crew routes based on the schedule and duty rules .
- Oversight of crew resources available to ensure program coverage and operational resilience.
- In liaison with Flight Operations Resource Manager (FORM) and with Flight Operations Upgrade
- Manager (FOUM) ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated to the flight operations.
- Optimizing the crew roster to ensure highest crew productivity while adhering to safety and
- compliance requirements.
- Taking the lead in process and system improvement
- Cross functional project management. Cooperation with various stakeholders across the
- organization (Cabin Operations, Training, Human Resources)
- Maintaining the Crew Planning Manual.
Experience
- 3-5+ years of overall work experience
- Proven 2+ years of experience in a managerial role in crew planning, or related roles within the aviation transport industry
Hard skills
Knowledge of AIMS Crew and Ops system and knowledge of Working Rules Limitations and Rest Requirements are advantageous
Education
Bachelors or Master’s degree
Language
Fluent English (both written and spoken)
