JOB TITLE: Avionics Supervisor - Third Shift
DEPARTMENT: Avionics
LOCATION: Oscoda, MI
REPORTS TO: Avionics Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Schedule manpower with the appropriate skill level to accomplish an assigned task in a timely manner and within budget.
- Perform a weekly check to confirm that all required training is current for assigned personnel. Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training.
- Coordinate with other departments as required to ensure a smooth and continuous workflow.
- Ensure that all maintenance is accomplished in accordance with approved or accepted data.
- Research parts and materials to ensure continuous workflow and correct effectivities.
- Research and review engineering data to determine the most efficient method of repairs or alterations.
- Coordinate with engineering personnel to resolve avionics issues beyond the scope of approved or accepted data.
- Interface with the Avionics Manager to recommend improvements needed to increase departmental performance and quality.
- Ensure that all personnel comply with Company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Avionics Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of experience in Heavy aircraft avionics systems.
• 2+ years in a supervisory capacity, or the demonstrated ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Preferred valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license, minimum of an Airframe license.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
