Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business strongly preferred or substituted by experience.
  • Equivalent background with a minimum of three years casting operations experience.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment, previous 680/90 experience a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience with progressive advancement and increasing responsibility preferred.
  • In current position with PCC for at least 1 year.

Requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours including off-shift and weekends based on the business need.
  • Strong performance reviews with positive accomplishments with PCC.
  • Have strong sense of urgency with the ability to work independently.
  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.

Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership and maintain a positive work atmosphere that will result in excellent relationships with customer, vendors, employees, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Responsible for supervision of department employees including training, discipline, and staffing.
  • Responsible for the safe manufacture of castings while meeting all manufacturing requirements.
  • Responsible for satisfying all quality and productivity requirements in most cost-effective manner.

Specific Duties:

  • Coordinate department priorities and communicate daily with the engineering, quality, production control, finance, human resources, other production areas, and vendors.
  • Ensure that all department production methods and practices are consistent with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and the AS9100 program.
  • Coordinate production with required schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Control flow of product, materials and utilization of labor throughout departments.
  • Directs and approves, following financial department guidelines, all requisitions for maintenance activities and purchase of department consumables.
  • Provide the leadership for development and implementation of effective systems for improving internal and external quality, cost improvements, and on-time delivery to the customer requirements.
  • Develop and coach supervisors and employees on all shifts with emphasis on building a winning team.
  • Communicate all issues to workforce working toward required goals.
  • Effectively collaborate with manufacturing engineers to achieve scrap, cost and safety requirements.
  • Manage the movement of product through the production area.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality.
  • Monitor the Operations safety program and ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations.
  • Ensure that the Operations departments’ high standard of housekeeping is met.
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
