Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate strength and durability of structural and rotating engine components using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements
  • Conduct stress and life analyses independently in scope of engine certifications and qualifications, design optimization to meet life goals, failure investigations and test capability assessment of engine hardware
  • Provide hands-on mentoring to engineers in the team and project guidance through execution
  • Lead mechanical analysis project teams to meet program milestones that are tied to business goals with proven quality
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve engineering problems
  • Implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
  • Lead and effectively communicate projects status, issues and significant development
  • Take active part in methods and tools development to improve processes related to Finite Element Analyses of structural and rotating parts.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering Departments of universities, post graduate degree is a plus
  • Have strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, theory of elasticity and numerical methods
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Advanced finite element analysis skills using ANSYS or other commercial FEA software (ABAQUS, Optistruct, Nastran, Patran etc.)
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • At least 12 years of experience focused on finite element analysis applications and program leadership

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Preferably experience in areas such as aviation, gas turbine or internal combustion engine design and analysis
  • Proven self-starter and independent worker who can work with and/or lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, which enable a learning approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to perform multi-task assignments effectively
