Responsibilities:
- Repair and overhaul structural components for F-18 aircraft, ensuring compliance with aviation standards.
- Perform structural modifications, sheet metal repairs, and assembly of aircraft components, including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose airframe and power plant malfunctions, applying technical expertise to restore equipment functionality.
- Interpret blueprints, manufacturer manuals, and technical documentation to execute repairs and modifications accurately.
- Utilize specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
- Conduct close-tolerance drilling and precision measuring for aircraft structural repairs.
- Ensure adherence to technical publications and documentation, including aircraft logs and records.
- Lead teams in complex structural repairs as needed and maintain project schedules.
