As part of the role, you will work on environmental testing chambers, air conditioning systems, chillers, vibration systems, industrial ovens, wash tanks and other manufacturing equipment. Duties will focus primarily on preventative and reactive maintenance in refrigeration systems and control systems including but not limited to programmers, chart recorders, relays, switchgear.

In addition to the above duties, you will be part of the Site Services team on campus, who are responsible for all plant and equipment on site, so routinely work on air handling units, compressed air, water, hydraulics and electrics.

You will have responsibility for emergency events on site including fire and flood, and will be trained to perform weekly fire alarm testing and run the diesel sprinkler pumps.

You will work alongside other colleagues, forming 16 people in the team, made up of a combination of HVAC engineers, electricians, plumbers, labourers and a gardener.

Essential Responsibilities

Key Activities:

  • Extensive experience working on the following:

    • Environmental chambers (installation, PMs, programming, fault diagnosis including F-Gas)

    • HVAC systems install, maintenance and repair,

    • Chilled water systems installation, maintenance, repair

    • Confidence in pneumatics, electrics, hydraulics and vibration systems associated with environmental testing

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Safety conscious

  • Electrical competency (C&G or equivalent)

  • Ability to work independently whilst balancing multiple priorities

  • Good team player who can operate in a multi discipline environment

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Desire for personal continuous improvement.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in vibration systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and water systems.

  • Desire to gain training on other production equipment and expand scope of repair capabilities
