Position Overview:

To oversee and coordinate all support activity on the CH-149 Cormorant Cockpit Procedures Trainer and Cockpit Emulators.

What You Will Do:
  • Oversee and direct all aspects including personnel of the Cormorant Training Center while reporting to the Training Development Manager;
  • Responsible for conducting all aspects of course programming and delivery:
  • Development of course material
  • Prepare instructor notes for lessons;
  • Instruct A/C systems (both theoretical and practical);
  • Ensure all course material is up-to-date and current to RCAF Standards
  • Liaise with 442 Sqn OTF; and
  • Ensure welfare of student while on course, administration and compassionate needs;
  • Analyzing training problems and recommending appropriate corrective measures
  • Direct and/or assist in training development projects
  • Planning future training resource requirements for the school
  • Ensuring an effective standards monitoring system is maintained in the school
  • Development of training quality control activities
  • Ensuring the provision of servicing and maintenance of all training equipment installed and used;
  • Liase with HIA training departments and other schools on training matters;
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all authorized courses to RCAF standards.
  • As part of the MOB Management team replace Site Manager, Deputy Site Manager, Production Supervisor on an as required basis;
  • Oversee the development of new course and training requirements IAW direction provided by the Crown;
  • Oversee the development of training specifications IAW direction provided by the Crown;
  • Fly or travel as necessary in support of training or operational requirements;
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and directives established by the company
What You Will Bring:
  • Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or be qualified as aircraft aviation technical with the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience; and
  • A background as a Senior Technical Instructor in the Canadian Forces or an equivalent level of management/technical experience in a commercial setting.
  • Five years aviation operational/maintenance experience and operational experience as a Flight Engineer is a strong asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Training Management and demonstratable skill in instructing A/C technical courses.
  • Ability to manage all administrative aspects of an Aircraft training cell.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, including, but not limited to, power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, avionics systems and power generation and distribution systems.
  • Advanced ability to use both standard and training computer programs and such specialized instructional packages as may be necessary in the performance of duties.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.  Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
