Aircraft Structural Mechanic

The F-18 E/F Airframe Mechanic will provide Organizational Level (“O” level) support for the aircraft’s airframe and control surfaces, including hydraulics systems and flight control rigging. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of all Airframe systems and be prepared to resolve technical issues. Additionally, the role includes providing technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to “O” Level technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide Organizational Level support for F-18 E/F aircraft airframe and control surfaces.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all Airframe systems aboard the aircraft.
• Resolve technical problems encountered.
• Provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to O Level technicians.
• Familiarize with IETM’s, NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
• Generate written reports for management as required.
• Clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.
• Comply with all health and safety, tool control, FOD control rules, regulations, and certification requirements.

• At least 3 years of F/A-18 E/F experience.
• Familiarity with F/A-18 inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
• Active secret DOD clearance.
• Comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
• Ability to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.

• Preference for candidates who have supported U.S. Navy F-18 squadrons on deployment.
• A & P License.

The position supports a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program based at the NAS Joint Reserve Base in New Orleans, LA. One position will support the first shift, and the other will support a dedicated night shift. The role includes one month of training and certifications before hands-on work with the aircraft. Safety regulations, tool control, and FOD control measures must be followed at all times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00
