Location: Lake Charles, LA

Compensation: $59.11/hour

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a Heavy Structures Mechanic 3 to join our team to support a contingent maintenance program for the E-6 (707) aircraft. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine/airframe systems. You will conduct diagnostics of malfunctions, perform maintenance, and carry out repairs, replacements, disassembly, rework, re-assembly, or adjustments of various aircraft systems per technical specifications and engineering instructions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing E-6 aircraft systems, including engines, auxiliary power units, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Assembling major structural assemblies such as fuselage panels, bulkheads, rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
  • Aligning parts using templates and fixtures, and performing operations such as filing, sawing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Measuring parts to verify dimensions using micrometers and calipers.
  • Applying technical expertise to restore equipment to operational condition and resolve complex problems.
  • Performing corrosion control, inspections, and fuel sampling, and entering maintenance records for completed work.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School diploma and a minimum of 10 years of experience with multi-engine transport category aircraft, including proven ability to troubleshoot E-6 aircraft systems.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift and overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to become respirator qualified and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a valid state driver’s license and operate appropriate Ground Support Equipment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing E-6 aircraft mechanical, electrical, engine, and propeller systems (excluding avionics).
  • Experience with E-6 aircraft structural repairs, fabrication, modification, and installation of sheet metal parts.
  • Previous E-6 engine turn qualification and familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.

Work Schedule:

  • Open to both day and night shifts. Shifts are typically set as Monday-Thursday or Thursday-Sunday.
  • Overtime may be required.
