One facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts and manifolds.

Just down the street in the Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC) facility is a GE Aerospace manufacturing shop that makes HPT Airfoil Cores and Castings. We develop the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.

Job Description

Wages are $20.55 - $23.79 per hour based on experience.

Additional $1.50 Premium Pay for 2rd shift!!

Initial training will also be on 2nd shift Hours: 2:15pm - 10:45pm

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensures internal and external customer requirements are followed.
Implement process improvement teams to reduce or improve process capabilities
Will use a computer daily(checking email, viewing/downloading shop drawings and instructions)
Will need to maintains records, written and electronic, in a well-organized manner
 

Job Requirements:

Able to practically apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
Able to apply variety of principles to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Capable of interpreting service manuals, blueprints and related documents
Ability to use standards shop measuring devices (calipers and micrometers)
Able to lift and exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Certain areas may require mandatory/random drug testing

  

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate or equivalent
6 months experience in manufacturing and/or quality or Aerospace

What it’s like at our GE Aerospace Manufacturing Facility:

Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide most protective gear including hearing protection if needed.  Strong safety focus with daily/monthly reviews and we have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating. GE Aerospace provides a $75 voucher towards the purchase of safety shoes as well as a voucher for safety prescription glasses if needed.
Surroundings. You’ll be operating and working around moving machines – stand-up forklifts, mobile carts, cranes, etc. Due to normal machining operations there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)).
Inclusive Culture. Team oriented, ability to share ideas and make recommendations with peers and leadership
Activity. In addition to sitting and standing while operating equipment, some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.
