Manufacture standard production and customized aircraft furniture.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from orders and blueprints to build and assemble small aircraft furniture per specifications. May work under guidance of higher grade furniture builder(s).
  • Operates equipment such as table saw, band saw, platen press, hand and table router and sander with minimal assistance.
  • Uses small and large power tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, saws, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
  • Use of precision measurement devices.
  • Operates spray gun for adhesive spray according to company specifications.
  • Applies laminate and veneer to composite and other materials.
  • Accurately record information required for data collection and material traceability with assistance.
  • Understand and respond to budget hours and schedule requirements with assistance.
  • Responsible only for own work.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Manage inventory and usage of associated parts for assigned project.
  • Initiates changes on job order and bill of materials following established procedures.
  • Fully understand and respond to budget hours and schedule requirements.
  • Responsible for leading, guiding, and directing other employees on Furniture Building needs.
  • Responsible for training new and current team members on processes and procedures.
  • Instruct and direct workflow of furniture builders to meet production schedule.
  • Write and understand QN process when needed.
  • Uphold mentoring and leadership qualities in the department.
  • Responsible for own work and overseeing/approving work of others in furniture build.
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

· 2-3 years of related experience in assembly and/or composite.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
