Job Description SummaryThe Value Process Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes within the Assembly and Test Organization. In this role, you will utilize your experience to solve technical problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, communicate regularly and effectively to leadership, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals. The role focuses on supporting engine assembly build processes for GE Aviation development, production, and overhaul engine assembly facilities around the world through best practice development and leveraging.

This role will be on-site only.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of all various assembly processes, material handling and torque applications techniques throughout the full build of the engine
  • Aid in troubleshooting the various Assembly processes, special tooling applications and best practices
  • Develop strong understanding of the various engine hardware modules, with how engine hardware is assembled, standard types of special tooling utilized in these operations and best practices followed throughout assembly.
  • Knowledge and experience with standard lift protocols, quality systems, calibration procedures, heating/cooling applications, contamination/cleanliness protocols and FAI requirements
  • Understand standard engine hardware damage, causes, corrective actions and solutions
  • Develop proficiency in data transfer and retrieval of torque data to/from the assembly shop floor unit to assembly servers
  • Has experience with interpreting special tool drawings, parts lists, change/modification mechanisms, navigation through the various systems and understanding of the correct contacts
  • Working knowledge of common measurement devices and instruments
  • Develop knowledge of computer-controlled torque equipment
  • Experience with interpreting Engine hardware drawings, parts lists, navigation through the various systems and understanding of the correct contacts.
  • Develop understanding of basic hydraulic systems
  • Ability to execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Ability to write equipment specifications, lead ordering, machine runoffs, installations and final acceptance. Be the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers providing technical direction and assuring on-time machine/equipment delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience) + a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
