What You Will Do

The Manufacturing. Engineering Manager is responsible for all technical issues related to process development and production of engine components in the assigned Business Unit.  The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and proficiency development to ensure the teams success and professional growth
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Work with the internal stakeholders to build and maintain collaborative partnerships
  • Successfully manage the unit’s capital, tooling, and engineering labor budgets
  • Work with production to ensure processes, enable material flow and standard work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes
  • Develop business cases for cost reduction, new work initiatives & capital improvements projects and provide leadership to execute to plan
  • Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output

Qualifications You Must Have

  • A Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 7+ year’s experience in engineering and manufacturing operations, or a Masters degree and 5+ years experience  .
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical, problem solving and mathematic skills
  • Demonstrate skill and success in team leadership, facilitation and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, policies and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support requirements as well as work instruction documentation for manufacturing processes
  • Must be flexible relative to department assignment and availability for off-shift work

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong technical strategy development and project planning skills
  • Knowledge of project management coupled with experience in leading technical teams in new product introduction and subsequent program phases
  • Strong relationship management skills highlighted by experience in cross functional projects both short and medium term
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier and senior leadership levels

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
