Job Summary
DRS Signal Solutions is looking for current students for an opportunity to contribute to technical projects and tasks in the relevant area of interest/study. This particular opening is for a Digital Engineering Intern/Co-op that is expected to contribute in digital hardware/FPGA design, hardware prototyping, integration & test, and/or digital signal processing."
Job Responsibilities• With supervision, analyze, test, and/or document (reports, design descriptions, schematics/layout) digital hardware developments
• With supervision, analyze, test, and/or document (reports, design descriptions, Verilog/VHDL) programmable logic/firmware developments
• Gather and assemble data for engineers
• Assist engineers with appropriate design details
• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
• Review specifications and requirements, and under direction, assist engineers in developing designs to best support them
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
• Must be enrolled in an accredited Electrical or Computer Engineering degree program (or related scientific/technical discipline) at a sophomore level or higher
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 GPA or higher, overall and in major
• Relevant course studies may include: Single Chip Microcomputers, Intro to Computer Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Introduction to Signal Analysis, Computer Architecture, Digital System Design, Electric Circuit Analysis, Computer Networking Protocols, FPGA/ASIC Design
• Effective written and oral communication skills
Previous internship/co-op experience preferred
