  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop new process parameters, achieving targeted product improvements.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and modeling engineers to model improved materials and provide data for model validation. Develop and implement modeling solutions, subsequently conducting studies and evaluation of system and subsystem performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis when required for abnormal processes, material composition or performance.
  • Develop creative solutions to resolve challenges or improve material performance including filing for patents or documenting trade secrets as applicable.
  • Establish robust methods for verifying material performance in a production environment to ensure high product integrity.
  • Develop methods for assessing materials after test and flight service exposures.  Use this data to assist in further development of test methods and establishment of acceptance criteria during maintenance, repair and overhaul.
  • Define simulation project requirements and objectives, generate statements of work, define timelines and ensure on-time completion of projects.
