What You Will Do:

Execution of MRL elements to drive process control will dramatically improve the company’s quality and delivery signature. The Senior Product Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for specific part or part family MRL advancement through the execution of MRL elements such as PFMEA, Control Plan & Gage R&R. The scope of this role will include both PW internal shop and supply chain components.  

  • With specific parts ownership, Senior Product Manufacturing Engineer will drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts.

  • Provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of MRL elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance; identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.

  • As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required

  • Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product; drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost curves and Qualification plan.

  • Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and ACE/CORE initiatives; work with product development/engineering to enable implementation of design for variation (DFV) and robust design methods (DFSS).

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Bachelor of Science and 5 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment or a Masters degree and 3 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or closely related technical degree)

  • 6 sigma Black Belt preferred; CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification

  • Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience preferred; understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities, proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects

  • Minitab and other statistical software; proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
