This individual works across functions in the advancement of analytic strategy and leads teams and other analytic communities in the development and execution of state-of-the art physics-based analytical models/methods. Advocates for the integration of on-wing technologies with analytics, creating opportunities with customers. Role Overview:

  • Develop, propose, and execute predictive maintenance solutions that comprehensively impact customers and the services business. Connect and integrate Analytics into business processes and align with the Services Technology strategy. Advocate for customers in the development and application of new Analytics methods for new levels of accuracy, speed, and scale.
  • Apply advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to create innovative solutions that enhance predictive maintenance and operational efficiency. Drive the adoption of AI technologies to solve complex technical challenges and improve decision-making processes.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and challenges, and collaborate with them to co-create innovative solutions. Foster strong relationships with customers to ensure their feedback is integrated into the development of new analytics and AI-driven methods.
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the analytics community to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs.
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations, customers, and within the workgroup.
  • Possess knowledge of best practices and how their area integrates with others; be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Use judgment and have the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complex processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Utilize technical experience and analytical thinking. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Lead projects/programs and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serve as a best practice/quality resource. Be aware of the latest technical developments in their area. Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within the area of responsibility.
  • Explain information and bring team members to consensus around topics within the field. 
  • Actively engage in Design Board and Tech Community activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in at least one of the following: engines fleet management and reliability for commercial engines (preferably CFM/GE Aerospace) or applied data science and machine learning for condition monitoring, anomaly detection, remaining useful life, or lifecycle cost optimization.
  • Proven data analysis experience, including exploratory data analysis and model validation
  • Demonstrated project leadership and horizontal influence across functions
  • Customer-driven mindset with strong business acumen and cultural awareness
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Airline maintenance or field service engineering experience with LEAP or other CFM/GE Aerospace engine product lines; and/or experience in data engineering (ETL/ELT, SQL), MLOps (model versioning, deployment, monitoring), LLMs, and cloud platforms
  • Design experience (preferably HPT/CDN) and understanding of engine field behavior and degradation mechanisms
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems end to end (data to decision)
  • Proficiency with Python and/or R; familiarity with Dataiku, Databricks, Alation (data catalog/governance), Power BI, Spotfire
  • Experience developing or applying digital solutions in operations or services environments
  • Ability to document, plan, communicate, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills with on-time delivery and quality outcomes
