The Role
Your new role will also provide you with the opportunity to learn, share knowledge and be mentored on Engineering methodology and processes. Enabled by the support of the Engineering Manager, you will also be enrolled in our national Systems Engineering network.
Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers. You will be responsible for:
- Performing modelling and analysis that relates to Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analysis of systems and components. This includes Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Level of Repair analysis (LORA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
- Conducting reliability, supportability and root cause investigations to identify key degraders in the asset being support and/or optimise asset reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and life cycle costs.
- Providing reliability engineering guidance and expertise to other functions within the program.
- Managing RAM models and systems including Functional Block Diagrams (FBD) and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), Failure (Data) Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (F(D)RACAS).
- Establishing and maintaining project reliability plans and instructions.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of project Reliability Plans and Instructions.
- This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 6 years of relevant experience in a Reliability Engineering role.
- Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline, (e.g. electrical, electronic, structural or mechanical backgrounds); holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
- Knowledge of ISO55000/55001 series standards desirable
- Previous exposure to Defence acquisition and/or sustainment projects desirable
- Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
