SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector shall be responsible to the Manager Quality Assurance. The QA Inspector shall be responsible for evaluating VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.’s quality system requirements for compliance with FAA, VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc., customer and other regulatory requirements and evaluating the conformity of activities with respect to these requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.’s procedures and practices for conformance to customer and regulatory agency requirements.
  2. Perform surveillance of VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.’s activities within a customer’s program.
  3. Document non-conformities on Corrective Action Reports (CAR’s) in accordance with VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc. PPM QC-010.
  4. Assist those responsible for non-conformity in the determination of the root cause and action required for corrective and preventive action.
  5. Perform follow-up surveillance to determine the effectiveness of CAR corrective and preventive actions.
  6. Periodically review past non-conformities and other available data to identify recurring non-conformities, root causes as opportunities for quality system improvement.
  7. Assist Training, Production and Quality management in the education of personnel working within VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.’s and customer program requirements.
  8. Maintain a Quality perspective in the production areas to encourage good maintenance and safety practices.
  9. Interface with VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc. management and customer representatives as necessary to facilitate program and quality system improvements.
  10. Perform other functions as directed by the Manager Quality Assurance.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:        Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:

            Proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications; strong writing and presentation skills; proficient skills in organizing, analyzing and preparing reports; excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal skills needed for frequent interaction with customers, Leads, Managers and Directors. Working knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials; working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and non-destructive testing; knowledge of paperwork procedures, routine/non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s and work sign off procedures; familiar with F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:       Climate controlled environment as well as industrial non-climate controlled environment.

 

SUPERVISION: Under general direction. Performs assignments after receiving

general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. Opportunity for

discretion in determining how to best perform job functions. Total end results determine

the effectiveness of job performance.

           

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship between various departments, management and customer representatives.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:         Primary responsibilities are performed in a non-climate controlled hangar. Extensive walking and climbing stairs and ladders may be required. Must be able to cope with stress due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously and long work hours.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION:      HS Diploma/GED required. A.S. degree or equivalent preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  5 years aircraft maintenance or Quality Assurance experience
