The Minor Vessel Capability Life Cycle Manager (MV CLCM) program have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Obsolescence Engineer. The Role
Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing an obsolescence management strategy, to ensured continued support of Navy assets.
- Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of Obsolescence Management Plans and Process documentation.
- Conducting gathering, tracking and verification of obsolescence related data though supplier engagement and polling.
- Assisting Supply Chain and Engineering teams with the selection, assessment, and validation of replacement components.
- Analysing, predicting, and providing mitigation recommendations against obsolescence risks for equipment approaching end-of-life.
- This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in a ILS Engineering, Asset Management and/or Obsolescence Management role.
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO55000/55001 series standards desirable
- Previous exposure to Defence acquisition/sustainment projects desirable.
- Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable, including analysis and simulation software (e.g. OPUS10, SIMLOX, and CATLOC).
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
