What You Will You Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Module Center Manufacturing Engineering Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the production of turbine airfoils.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day leadership, direction & coordination of Pratt & Whitney support organizations and suppliers focusing on application of advanced coating systems
  • Process development, staffing and training, as well as the installation and startup of advanced coating equipment, which includes surface preparation and overlay coating finishing equipment
  • Create technical requirements and optimize process parameters required to support the overlay coating processes
  • Support and setup of the organizational infrastructure within the manufacturing environment ranging from business data collection and design of suitable metrics to characterize plant performance, to the operational details of material and part flow during the advanced coating process
  • Policy creation and deployment in the areas of EHS, lean manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction
  • Keep current on status and recent developments in the plant / industry / profession
  • Embrace ACE, promote principles and contribute to achieving/maintaining goals as a team
  • Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly
  • Promote corporate code of ethical standards and business practice and company policies

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineer /2+ years related experience (a comparable combination of education & experience will be considered)
  • Experience with thermal barrier coatings (Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition-EBPVD) or plasma spraying process (Air Plasma Spray-APS) a plus
  • Experienced in robotic programming a plus (ability to utilize and program ASEA robot via S4 control a plus)
  • Six Sigma green or black belt training and/or lean manufacturing training a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills required providing a high level of service to satisfy/fulfill internal or external needs accurately in a timely manner
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract​

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
