Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing production processes to ensure cost effective and safe assembly, test, and inspection of avionics products
  • Assess, address, and validate tool and equipment needs to facilitate safe, timely, and cost-effective production
  • Coordinate design, procurement and implementation of tooling and support equipment, executing to established budgets and timelines
  • Communicates with direct team, supervisor, engineers, and other management
  • Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
  • Establishes and successfully executes approved new technology, continuous improvement, and cost-out projects
  • Drive productivity and product quality improvements via process changes
  • Participate in bid & proposal activity, including development of non-recurring engineering and recurring product cost estimates
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activity to ensure product producibility and testability upon entry into service
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, experience, and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Uses judgment and ability to propose solutions outside of set parameters to address complicated manufacturing processes which may include technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Reads and understands engineering drawings and specifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
