Holding an TCCA AME license rating M, E or S, or ANAC MMA license ratings CEL + GMP + AVI (for Brazil) with an aircraft certification authority (ACA) applicable to the type of aircraft expected to be maintained, the AME:is a working member of a self-directed team and is capable of performing all the functions of an aircraft technician (AT); andexercises the privileges of the ACA, including providing technical job direction and mentoring to ATs and other AMEs.
Responsibilities:Duties within the assigned area of responsibility include, but are not limited to:Being responsible and accountable to a TL/Lead AME for operational and AW oversight.Coordinating and supervising the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TL/Lead AME, Planners, other AMEs and personnel, as required.Signing maintenance releases (MR) for non-licensed personnel and signing for personnel not directly allocated to the work group on an ad hoc basis.Exercising full authority of the ACA and any additional authorities held (e.g. run up, taxi, borescope).Planning, coordinating and executing work.Ensuring any issues that could jeopardize work performance or AW are raised/addressed in a timely manner.Performing the required inspections, evaluations and MRs.Resolving material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan.Estimating and defining planned repairs.Performing general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), conformity inspections, self-checks and required inspection items (RII).Signing off defects to defined standards.Providing oversight and management of defects.Completing and verifying all technical records and data entries for any work performed.Ensuring AW and safety policies, processes and standards are followed.Mentoring, training and coaching maintenance personnel.Ensuring adequate work hand off information is provided to personnel in Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) and to those on the next shift; andPerforming work in accordance with the Work Performed policy of ACM Control Manual.Identifying and ordering parts.Performing required computer entries and functions.Signing for the performance of work.Complying with company policies, procedures and standards.Maintaining personal records.Ensuring any issues that could jeopardize production or airworthiness are raised in a timely manner.Ensuring airworthiness and safety policies, processes and standards are complied with.Ensuring a safe and tidy workplace.Execute all other assigned work in support of LM activities which may include, but not limited to, facilities, ASE, etc. as directed by Lead AME, Team Leader and/or Regional Manager.
QualificationsTechnician/College degree in aircraft maintenance, mechanics, or electronics.Minimum 5 years of proven aircraft maintenance experience, Boeing fleet experience preferable.Possession of a Brazil ANAC CHT CEL+GMP+AVI or a Transport Canada AME M2 license is Mandatory.Must have exercised the privileges of the Brazilian license for at least 2 years, applicable for the ANAC holders.Must qualify to hold an Aircraft Certifying Authority under a Transport Canada approved maintenance organization.Possession of valid Brazilian driver license.Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical and a security check as well.Ability to work in a team concept as well as stand-alone with focus on the team.Be available to workdays, evenings or nights including weekends and holidays. Proficiency with PC (MS Office).Must be able to obtain Airport badge pass.Must hold a valid passport.Good verbal and written communication skills.Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.Be a Brazilian citizen or have landed immigrant status.
