A Mechanical Engineer position is available in Quincy, Massachusetts, with Moseley Technical Services, a top maritime and Defense company. In this job, you will join the Autonomous Maritime Platforms Business as a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the design and development of advanced autonomous subsea systems and vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Design, prototype, and refine mechanical components for subsea platforms and autonomous vehicles (AUVs/UUVs).
Collaborate across disciplines (electrical, systems, software) to develop integrated hardware solutions.
Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling and PTC Windchill for product data management (PDM).
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision and fit in complex assemblies.
Support prototype assembly, testing, and iterative design improvements throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, and 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Masters degree and 3+ years of job-related experience
- Knowledge of autonomous/unmanned undersea vehicle (AUV/UUVs) technologies, principles, theories, and concepts
- Mechanical Engineering Design
- Proficiency with SolidWorks MCAD and PTC Windchill PDM Software
- Hands-on experience assembling prototype systems
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
