Shift: Variable (1st & 2nd shift required)

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced C-17 Aircraft Electronics Technician II to support the C-17 Program in San Antonio, Texas. This role performs advanced avionics troubleshooting, testing, installation, and modification work on heavy aircraft platforms in accordance with DOD, OEM, company, and supplier requirements.

Position Responsibilities

• Apply advanced technical knowledge to resolve issues not typically solvable through standard manuals or documentation.
• Perform circuit analysis, waveform calculations, and signal flow tracing using complex test equipment (pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, computer control systems).
• Conduct aircraft bench and/or flight line operational tests and troubleshooting.
• Assemble, install, modify, and test wire bundles during aircraft development, testing, and modification.
• Maintain accurate, safe handling of tools, products, and equipment.
• Collaborate with management and peers to determine best work processes.
• Train and mentor less-experienced team members; may lead small teams on complex tasks.
• Prioritize workload to meet schedule and project requirements.
• Perform duties associated with lower avionics classifications as needed.
• Interpret work instructions, blueprints, schematics, layouts, tables, verbal and electronic directives.
• Ensure equipment is operated according to safety and compliance procedures.
• Diagnose and correct assembly-related malfunctions.
• Use precision measurement tools to verify quality and dimensional requirements.
• Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits.
• Work in confined spaces, climb vertical ladders, and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime (scheduled/unscheduled) to meet mission requirements.
• Follow Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist other team members including General Mechanics, Structures, and Electrics as needed to meet cost/schedule goals.

• Experience with the C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms
• Experience with aircraft avionics systems (e.g., Comm/Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar)
• 3+ years of experience in applied mathematics, statistics, or related technical field
• 4+ years of experience interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, SOPs
• 3+ years working with aircraft computer systems and standard office software
• Regular and reliable attendance required
• Training: Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment – OJT or formal classroom training

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C-17 modifications
• Experience with COMSEC, Radar, or electronic systems
• Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric-powered elevating equipment

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or GED and typically 4+ years relevant experience
  OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
