Primary Objective of the Position:The successful candidate will provide essential support to both the HR department and the operational activities of the station, such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance, with administrative tasks to ensure the station operates efficiently.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist with job postings, candidate screenings, and scheduling interviews for station-based roles.
- Coordinate the recruitment process by preparing job offer letters, conducting background checks, and ensuring timely onboarding for new hires.
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist new team members with station-related procedures.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support payroll administration by gathering and verifying timesheets, attendance records, and shift details for station team members.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and answering team members inquiries.
- Support the coordination of the team members work schedule and time-off requests for station team members.
- Collaborate with Head Office on the various worker compensation case and work with key stakeholders on Return-to-work plans.
- Maintain all training record certifications and re-training requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings and Health & Safety committee, including tracking of action items and minute-taking.
- Oversee daily administrative functions at the station, including managing office supplies, equipment maintenance, and office space logistics.
- Manage internal communication for the station, including bulletin boards, emails, and updates on company policies.
- Adhere to company and legislated confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be bilingual in English and French.
- Minimum 1 year experience in HR functions preferred.
- Post-secondary education in HR, preferably CPHR certified.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional judgment and discretion in managing highly sensitive and confidential information.
- A quick thinker who brings a positive and high-energy approach to getting things done.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills; attention to detail is critical part of this role.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain efficient office procedures and a system for keeping track of multiple, competing priorities.
- Professional and friendly communications with potential candidates, co-workers, and clients.
